The SUNDAY Trial is an investigator initiated clinical trial with no private or industry-related financial support. Support for the trial comes from various national and scientific agencies.

The study was originally planned for the Scandinavian countries but has since expanded both to The Netherlands and New Zealand.

There are several seasoned and irreplaceable members on the SUNDAY team, including physicians, statisticians, research nurses, and former aortic dissection patients.
